OddsJAm & Opticodds
Odds Holdings Inc is the leading provider of premium sports betting news and data. They serve B2B clients (under the brand OpticOdds) like FanDuel & DraftKings to provide them with the fastest and most comprehensive sports betting data so sportsbooks can accurately and quickly adjust odds for the bets they offer.
Odds Holdings also has a B2C business (OddsJam) that sells the same sports betting data to individual sports bettors, allowing them to take advantage of inefficiencies in the sports betting markets to find arbitrage and other profitable betting opportunities.
Oddsjam b2c subscription business audit
I approached Odds Holdings Inc upon discovering their B2C software - OddsJam. Through my experience working with SaaS companies, and especially with subscription businesses like Forbes, Business Insider, & The Daily Beast, I saw some clear areas of opportunity that I believed would help to boost revenue and increase their number of paying subscribers.
I reached out to the CEO and explained my experience and my ideas, and we quickly began a consulting engagement where I conducted a full audit and benchmark exercise to compare OddsJam’s current performance to the benchmark for similar businesses.
The output of that exercise was a series of recommendations of tests to run, features to implement, or workstreams to streamline. I helped them to edit their roadmap to include these new recommendations and assisted in the implementation and analysis of the results.
One noteworthy recommendation (implementing best practices on their subscription landing page) increased the revenue of OddsJam’s most popular subscription by 15% in just under 3 weeks.
After a successful audit and testing sequence, I joined the team full time to focus on membership. While working with OddsJam, we were able to triple revenue.
optic Odds
While I continued our efforts to scale our B2C subscription business, I also began working closely with the B2B team and our partners (MGM, Caesars, DraftKings, Prize Picks, Fanatics & Others) to see how their teams were using the OpticOdds ‘Odds Screen’ and the ‘Odds API’ which were Optic Odds’ two main products. The relationships I formed with our clients allowed me to get a great understanding of their needs and desires going into the future, which allowed OpticOdds to begin work on new products to service those needs.
In the time I worked with the OpticOdds team, we were able to increase customer retention and more than doubled B2B revenue.
Oddsjam Mobile app
I led the planning, development, and execution of a comprehensive software roadmap to successfully release a high-performing mobile app for OddsJam’s B2C business. I lead user research and analysis of OddsJam’s subscribers to create an informed feature set and subscription experience.
I lead the team to a successful launch, and the app now has thousands of DAU, and generates over $1M in new ARR in under a year after the initial release.
We also ran successful paid ad campaigns to drive anonymous users to download the app and start a subscription.
